Kronodoc data can be backed up both off-line and on-line.
To perform an off-line backup, shut down Kronodoc and Oracle during the backup. This ensures data consistency to the highest level while making the system unavailable during the backup.

Oracle database has this capability, which can be utilized if the backup system in use can use the Oracle on-line backup facilities. For more information on backup systems, see Oracle documentation and recommendations for backups, or e.g. Unix Backup & Recovery.
On-line backup may result in some inconsistency modes after recovery. These inconsistencies can and should be repaired manually, but may caused the loss of the inflicted data. It is advised to use file system snapshots, if available, to maintain as much consistency as possible.
